URGENT MESSAGE TO ALL ICV ATV CLUB MEMBERS

Due to an apparent lack of respect for signage, and by extension, for our landowners, all dirt bike riders came perilously close to losing access to the vast majority of the Club’s trails today (7/31/22).

One of the many landowners who grants us access routinely observes dirt bikes traveling at high rates of speed on a trail with conspicuously posted speed limit signs. What the landowner witnessed today was the straw that nearly broke the camel’s back. As of this time, we still have full access, but we are on a “probationary period”.

Folks, our speed limit signs are strategically placed for very specific reasons – RESPECT FOR NEARBY HOMEOWNERS, AND FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL HOMEOWNERS AND RIDERS. It’s simple… If you see homes, keep the speed and the noise to a minimum!

In addition to the parking area, posted trails with nearby homes are Trail 200 between Melcroft Rd and the settling ponds, and Trails 61 & 1 from the crossing at Hopewell Road all the way up the hill to the intersection with Trail 35.

You are required to abide by and to help enforce ALL posted speed limit areas. There are more than enough trails in our system to go wide-open throttle without disturbing others.

Finally, you know legal places to ride are in very short supply in southwestern Pennsylvania. We cannot tolerate actions that could cause us to lose access to our trails, or to jeopardize expansion to future trails.
